Yeah, the Police is definetly my top rated “Stalker” song, along with that one from the Vogues.

Also “Sugar We’re Goin’ Down” by Fall Out Boy had some pretty insinuating lyrics…

“Oh don’t mind me I’m watching you two from the closet, wishing to be the friction in your jeans. Isn’t it messed up, how I’m just dying to be him, I’m just a notch in your bedpost, but you’re just a line in a song.”

But they’re terrible as is.

Stalker songs! *thumbs up* What a great era for music the 80’s was. No joke!

Oh yeah, the Police stuff was definitely MEANT to be creepy.

My vote for creepiest stalker-”love” song is the Beatles’ “Run For Your Life.” I find it nothing less than miraculous that, in a few short years, Lennon went from that to “Woman Is The Nigger Of The World.” Yeah, you could say his consciousness was somewhat raised.

My favorite stalking song is by the Vogues. I’m not sure what it’s called, but it goes like this, “There is someone… walking behind you… turn around… look at me… there is someone… watching your footsteps…” and on and on about following some poor girl. We don’t have a “Judy’s Turn to Cry,” but I bet the sequel would’ve been very sad.

I’m always glad when others pick up on the super creepy stalker vibe (intended, as far as I’m aware) for Happy Together. Always makes me laugh when I hear it over commercials with people spinning round holding hands or whatever – aren’t they *listening* to the near frantic desperation in his voice?
