Mystery Creature Washes Up On Long Island

July 30, 2008 · 27 Comments

Hot on the heels of the alleged Bigfoot corpse in the freezer is this picture of a mystery creature that supposedly washed up on a Long Island, NY beach. As you can see, it looks like a pig with a parrot’s face and is freakin’ nasty looking. And yet, I also feel pity for it. Not every one of God’s creatures can look like a koala bear.

What the hell is it? The result of some mysterious genetic experiment gone awry? A promo for some new Fox sci-fi series that will only last six months? You decide.

Also a sign of armageddon: child catches nasty-ass demonic fish.

    HOLY fuck! That’s nuts.

I come from Long Island. I always knew there was a good reason I left.

I’m actually a little freaked out.

Very strange creature!!! To me it is the result of the honeymoon of a sea lion and a turtle. Or maybe it is the result of the honeymoon of a sailor that has been on the sea for a long time and a turtle.

How big is it? It looks too big to be a snapping turtle although the head looks like it may belong to a turtle. and has anyone really seen a turtle without it’s shell? ‘cos i don’t think it looks like that.

    freaky creature! maybe’s it’s a mutant?

I’ve been following this since it broke and I feel sad for the animal. There seems to be this fascination about it and I guess that’s to be expected, but you’re right, I think it deserves our pity much more.

It’s definitely not a turtle without its shell as a lot of people are saying; turtle skeletons are in their shells, so you’d be seeing muscle and bone, not skin. My best guess is it’s some kind of pug-faced dog. Most of the features look right and if you look closely the “beak” is actually a mouthful of teeth with the nasal cavity exposed because of decomposition.

Newsday posted a new photo which shows it in better focus; it looks more like a dog in that one.

    looks like a koala

It looks somewhat like a muskrat/nutria that got caught in a bonfire – Check out a muskrat skull it would explain the beak but not the positioning of the back teeth.

By the way it is not a turtle b/c turtles dont have teeth, nor can a turtle just lose its shell without severe destruction of the skeleton. Why, b/c turtles’ shells are their skeletons.

Dont think its a racoon either b/c the beak or whatever the hell that some are calling is basically the snout of a racoon curves down towards the mouth.

    Hell it may be MANBEARPIG.

If it turns out that this is not a hoax, it defiantly is not a turtle without it’s shell that is for sure. There is no resemblance to any known species of turtle in existence. Notice the joints of the forelegs, the direction and position; they are like other animals but not turtle.
Also the head and beak are far more aggressive than any species of turtle. Good luck on figuring this one out.

has anyone notice it’s front paws(or feet),,,whatever…looks like something was tied around it? Maybe it’s some kinda genetic experiment gone wrong or something. It looks like it’s been tied up at one point though.

I’ll settle for the turtle with no shell anyway. If that’s not what it is, it must be a photoshop stunt. If I ever want to catch sleep again.
